CU Advisory: Power restored at Williams Village following Xcel outage

Power has been restored at Williams Village following outage reported by Xcel Energy. Continue to monitor this site for additional updates and information.

Residence Life has issued the following important reminders to residents of Williams Village:

  • Electronic key card systems may experience temporary interruptions, though access to your individual unit should not be impacted.
  • Open flames are not permitted at any time, including the use of candles.
  • During power outages, please shut windows and doors to your unit to maintain temperature.
  • Generators, space heaters and grills/portable stoves are not permitted.
  • Shared amenities such as elevators, washers and clothes dryers will not work during a power outage.
  • Buff Bus will continue to run but may be delayed due to traffic light impacts.
  • The Village Center will have limited dining options, and only the Toast station will be open. Dining in C4C, Farrand, etc., remain fully open.
  • Keep your items cold by refraining from opening your refrigerator and freezer.

Xcel Energy has notified campus of an unplanned power outage at Williams Village. Xcel is working to restore power to the area, and does not have an indication of when that restoration will occur. Xcel will update the status of the outage on its outage map.
