Norlin Library will partially reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. The cause of the fire is under investigation. We expect that some areas will remain closed for a few weeks as cleaning efforts continue. Check the Libraries website for more information.

[11:50 a.m. | Sunday, Feb. 11] 

Norlin Library will remain closed on Monday, Feb. 12 while crews continue fire cleanup. Monday classes held in Norlin have been relocated, please contact your instructor with questions. Gemmill Library will observe extended hours until 11 p.m. on Monday to provide late night study spaces for students.

Boulder Fire Rescue has cleared the scene. Norlin Library remains closed until further notice. If you need to access the library during the closure, please visit colorado.edu/libraries. Librarians are available online and via chat to help with your research and course assignments. Get information and assistance with off-campus access to library resources, or chat with a librarian using the Ask a Librarian service. All other campus libraries remain open and are staffed by librarians.

The fire at Norlin Library has been extinguished. There were no injuries and there is no danger to campus. Crews are still on scene, please continue to avoid the area. Norlin Library is closed until further notice.

The Boulder Fire-Rescue Department (BFRD) is investigating a fire at Norlin Library. The fire is now out and firefighters are working to remove smoke from the building to assess the damage.
