CU Safety Alert: Second Degree Assault Outside of Ekeley Building, South of Norlin

To the CU Boulder community:

This message is sent in the interest of public safety and in compliance with federal law requiring timely warning notification of crimes committed on or near campus.

This message contains information about or descriptions of a violent crime.

It is reported that CUPD is investigating a reported second degree assault that occurred at 10:42 p.m. outside of CU Boulder’s Ekeley Building, south of Norlin Library.

A male victim was jumped by a male suspect traveling with a group of three other individuals. He struck the victim several times, knocking him to the ground.

The victim called 9-1-1 and is being treated for his injuries. The suspect is described as wearing a tan hat with a dark bill, neon green t-shirt with a gray hoodie underneath the t-shirt, and blue jeans. The suspect was last seen running northwest through Norlin quad.
