Per the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, Shelter in Place means:

An order to Shelter In Place is an official order, issued during an emergency, that directs people to stay in the indoor place or building that they already occupy and not to leave unless absolutely necessary. Shelter in place means finding a safe location indoors and staying there until you are given an “all clear” or told to evacuate. You may be asked to shelter in place because of an active shooter; tornado; or chemical, radiological, or another hazard.

Students unable to attend class due to a Shelter in Place order may consult with their instructor.
