Three levels of notifications are sent depending on the type of incident. All notifications are compiled and disseminated by CU Boulder Police, CU Boulder Emergency Management and CU Boulder Strategic Relations and Communications. All notifications are verified for accuracy before being sent and reflect the information available at the time. Learn more about the three alert levels, also outlined below.
How to Receive CU Emergency Alerts
Everyone with an @colorado.edu email will automatically receive CU Emergency Alerts and we highly encourage you to add your cellphone number to receive text alerts by going to the Buff Portal or your MyCUInfo portal. Alerts are always posted on alerts.colorado.edu. You can also receive CU Emergency Alerts by following @CUBoulderPolice and @CUBoulderAlerts on X (formerly Twitter).
