CU Boulder will observe normal operating hours on Monday, April 8.
The campus has received reports that power is being restored to the following buildings on East Campus: LASP, SPSC, and CASA/ARL, as well as at Athens North. Power to MRS has also been restored. SEEC/SEEL is still operating on backup power. Any facilities-related emergencies in these or other buildings should be reported to CU Facilities Management Operations Control Center (OCC) by calling 303-492-5522.
Boulder Valley School District will be assessing operating status at several impacted schools for Monday, April 8. Any BVSD cancellations will not impact operations at CU Boulder. Xcel Energy has notified CU Boulder that the high wind event may cause significant power outages throughout Boulder County and that Xcel may also proactively take down service areas as a fire mitigation strategy beginning as early as 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6 and continuing until at least noon on Sunday, April 7. Xcel Energy will update their power outage map with updates throughout the weather event.
CU Boulder’s campus utilities team is continuing to monitor the situation. The campus utilities and facilities teams are preparing backup power generating assets to respond as needed.
