Boulder Fire-Rescue Responding to Fire Alarm at MUEN
[11:15 a.m. | Feb, 12, 2025]
Boulder Fire-Rescue and CU Boulder Environmental Health & Safety have cleared the Muenzinger, Gold and Porter buildings, and Buff Bus routes have resumed as normal. Boulder Fire-Rescue will work to determine the cause of the haze.
Classes will resume as normal for the remainder of the day. Please continue to use caution in the area due to water use and possibly slippery conditions.
[10:30 a.m. | Feb, 12, 2025]
Boulder Fire-Rescue is still on scene. Buff Buses are temporarily re-routed to Regent Drive to UMC and back. If you are at a stop along Colorado Ave, walk to Regent or walk up to UMC.
[9:54 a.m. | Feb, 12, 2025]
Boulder Fire-Rescue was dispatched to the Muenzinger Building at 18th and Colorado for a fire alarm at around 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12. When BFR crews arrived, they saw haze in the building, but no active fire. BFR will remain on scene to determine the cause of the haze.
Muezinger, Gold and Porter buildings have all been evacuated and will remain evacuated until the investigation is complete. Additionally, because of the building’s proximity to the 18th and Colorado bus stop, Buff Buses have been rerouted to avoid the area.
Please avoid Colorado Avenue between 18th and Folsom due to fire crews and water creating icy conditions.
